The Article 3g of the Regulation (EU) bans the importation from Russia of the steel products listed in the Annex XVII. However, on 30 September a ban, provided for in Article 3g (1)(d), to import these products when they are processed in a third country, has entered into force. This is extremely important for European importers.
There are still some products for which the ban will enter into force later.
The provision itself establishes that for the purposes of the application of the ban, importers shall, at the time of importation, provide evidence of the country of origin of the steel inputs used for the processing of the product in a third country.
