ADVISING KODYSA IN A PROJECT WITH ESTIMATED VALUE OF 50 MILLION EUROS
Madrid, November 28.– Legal firm Lupicinio International Law Firm, leader in advising companies in Cuba since 1996, has accompanied the Spanish group KODYSA in negotiations with the Cuban government on a framework agreement for the development of an agro-industrial program that will provide three of every ten chickens consumed on the island. The cost of the operation has been estimated at a value of 50 million euros. Thus, this project is one of the major purposes with which concludes the official view of President Pedro Sánchez to the island.
The agreement has been signed by the president of the Cuban livestock company Gegan, Noberto Espinosa Carro, which operates under the umbrella of the country’s Ministry of Agriculture, and by the president of Kodysa, Diego Amaya Guerrero. Also, the agreement counted as witnesses the Spanish Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Reyes Maroto and the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of Cuba, Antonio Carricarte Corona.
The initiative involves the operation of a joint venture with Cuban and Spanish participation that will provide approximately 300,000 chickens each week. José María Viñals, partner-director of International Operations of the Lupicinio International office, affirmed that this is a great milestone both for the Iberian company that advises and for Cuba: “This is a project of great importance for the island, since it will suppose to be able to supply part of the great demand that there is. It should be remembered that Cuba currently has to import the birds from Brazil and Florida, which means not having access to fresh chicken. ”
In addition, regarding the work recently carried out by the firm on the island, it is worth mentioning the advice given to a food products company in the renewal of its agreement with the Cuban state. Among other sectors in Cuba where the firm is active, it includes banking, tourism and the energy sector, as well as services and consumer goods.
