Cryptocurrencies are a form of digital currency that uses cryptography to secure and verify transactions, can be transferred and stored electronically, using decentralised recording technology or similar technology. In Spain, cryptocurrencies do not have a clear legal status, and their regulation is in the process of development.
We share an article by Fátima Rodríguez González, head of the criminal and compliance area at Lupicinio International Law Firm, published in Diario LA LEY in which she presents some basic concepts about cryptocurrencies and their current functioning in Spain, their current regulation and proposals to provide them with greater legal certainty. It also analyses the most common criminal acts involving crypto-assets.
We salute and thank Fátima Rodríguez González for sharing her interesting analysis and reflections on the subject.
