Partner and director of the Department of Competition Law for Lupicinio International Law Firm, Ángel Valdés, once again has participated in the seminar “Practical aspects of the application of Competition Law in the pharmaceutical sector”, held on Tuesday the 18th of September, in Madrid. The seminar was organized by the CEFI Foundation, whose purpose is to promote research and technological development, especially in relation to the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
During the presentation, the director of the Barcelona office for the law firm Lupicinio addressed issues such as sanctions against executives, the new regulations for claiming damages and the prohibition of hiring under the new law of public sector contracts. Additionally, Ángel Valdés explained: “Undoubtedly, following the action plans of the CNMC, the work of this institution will continue to focus on the persecution of the cartels. It will seek to discourage this practice by imposing more sanctions on executives of companies involved and applying prohibitions so that these companies cannot contract with Public Administrations”.
During the event, many renowned lawyers participated in matters of Competition in the pharmaceutical sector and it was closed by Beatriz de Guindos Talavera, Competition Director of the CNMC.
