We share an analysis in an article published by the Antitrust Alliance (ATA) on the recent tightening of the Belgian Competition Authority’s (BCA) policy towards bid rigging. What was initially presented as an intention — including the possibility of prosecuting individuals for the first time — has materialised in a landmark decision that sanctions not only the companies involved, but also directly the individuals responsible. This action, together with other decisions adopted in July 2024 in sectors such as fire protection and private security, as well as an ongoing public consultation addressed to public buyers, reflects a more aggressive phase in the fight against bid rigging. 📃 ⚖️
