He started his professional career at Bankinter, and then went on to work in the Tax Department of Arthur Andersen and in the Empresa Nacional Santa Bárbara. Between the years of 1989 and 2009 he was Director of Tax Compliance and Tax Advisor for Caja Madrid. From November 2009 until July 2015, he was Director of Tax Consultancy for the Spanish Confederation at Cajas de Ahorros (CECA) and at Cecabank S.A.
Teaching has been a constant feature in his professional life, both at university (Faculties of Law and Business Studies at the Universidad Pontificia Comillas -ICADE), and in post-graduate courses (Masters Degree in Advanced Financial Analysis at the Universidad Carlos III and in Financial Markets at the Universidad San Pablo-CEU). Currently, he is a professor for the Master`s Degree in Tax Practice and the Master’s Degree in Banking and Finances at the Centro de Estudios Garrigues. He has been a speaker at numerous seminars specialized in tax matters and author of various scholarly articles about fiscal issues.
