EXPERIENCE
Ángel has advised multiple national and international businesses on corporate matters. His main specialist areas are Competition Law, Commercial Law and Corporate Law and he has accumulated extensive experience in the Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Food & Agriculture sectors, and in retail and Shopping Centres, having advised some of the leading companies in these fields.
He has held the position of Secretary of the Board for various companies, among others, AKZO NOBEL PACKAGING COATINGS, SALTON PRODUCTOS ESPAÑA, JOHN DEERE WATER, LAVENDON ACCESS SERVICES SPAIN and P.S. APLICLOR.
MERITS
Angel Valdés has been highlighted in Best Lawyers from 2017 to the present in Antitrust/Competition and Merger & Acquisition in Chambers & Partners, Legal 500, Legal Dealmaker in Competition and ‘The International Who’s Who of Competition Lawyers’ as one of the best Competition lawyers in Spain. He is a member of the Academic Board of the Master in EU and Competition Law of the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and has been a member of the Editorial Board of the Gaceta Jurídica de la UE y de la Competencia.
He is the only Spanish member of the Antitrust Alliance (ATA) and is also a member of the Spanish Association for the Defence of Competition (AEDC).
He is the author of the book ‘Guía para Invertir en España’ (published by IMADE), co-author of “Problemas complejos de la Unión Europea y el Derecho de la Competencia – Competition and European Yearbook” (published by Thomson Reuter – Civitas) in its annual editions from 2014 to the current edition and co-author of the book ‘Horizontal Agreements and Cartels in EU Competition Law (published by Oxford University Press). He is a speaker at seminars and conferences on Corporate Law and contributes to numerous national and international publications in the sector, such as Expansión, La Gaceta de los Negocios, Cinco Días, Tribuna del Derecho, European Business Brief, Solicitor Journal and Financial Times Law Brief.
