We share an article published by the Antitrust Alliance<\/a> (ATA)<\/strong> on the recent legislative reform adopted in Sweden to significantly strengthen the powers of the Swedish Competition Authority. The new measures, which will enter into force on 1 August 2026 and 1 January 2027, introduce new tools aimed at removing barriers to competition, expand the Authority\u2019s ability to scrutinise certain acquisitions falling below the notification thresholds, and reinforce the sanctions regime applicable to companies that provide inaccurate information or fail to comply with requests from the Authority. \"\ud83d\udcc3\"\u00a0\"\u2696\ufe0f\"<\/p>\n

The reform also introduces a new regulatory framework governing commercial activities carried out by public entities, with the aim of ensuring a level playing field between public and private market operators. In addition, enhanced transparency requirements will apply to publicly owned companies, strengthening oversight of their economic activities and financing arrangements. These developments reflect a growing trend across Europe towards a more proactive and preventive approach to competition law enforcement.<\/p>\n
