The chapter was written by <a href=\"https:\/\/lupicinio.com\/en\/lawyer\/lupicinio-rodriguez\/\"><b>Lupicinio Rodr\u00edguez<\/b><\/a>, Managing Partner at LILF; <a href=\"https:\/\/lupicinio.com\/en\/lawyer\/fatima-rodriguez\/\"><b>F\u00e1tima Rodr\u00edguez Gonz\u00e1lez-Ch\u00e1vez<\/b><\/a>, Coordinator of the International Law and Sanctions Department; and <b>Jos\u00e9 Luis Iriarte<\/b>, Professor of Private International Law at the Public University of Navarra.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This work examines how international sanctions prohibiting the provision of legal services to sanctioned states or legal entities create a high degree of legal uncertainty for the legal profession, especially in non-contentious situations. It highlights the practical difficulties already recognised by European case law, which affect both notaries and lawyers when determining the scope of the restriction and the nature of the services permitted.
