Marc Beaumont is a highly experienced senior English barrister (called to the Bar in 1985). He was admitted to the New York Bar as FLC in 2013. He has a diploma in international commercial arbitration and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is an arbitrator and commercial mediator. He is UK co-chair of the New York State Bar Association’s International Section.
Mr Beaumont has a leading practice specialising in UK regulatory and commercial law. He has full rights of audience in the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court in England. As well as acting as an advocate in court, he is able to conduct all aspects of high value, high stakes litigation without being instructed by UK solicitors.
He represents clients in corporate disputes, banking and financial services, asset-freezing orders, civil fraud, insurance, commercial arbitration, property ownership disputes, trusts, lawyer negligence, sports law, commercial judicial review, human rights law and corporate crime.
Mr Beaumont has made his name defending unpopular causes. He is known for his ingenuity and originality and his powerful written and oral advocacy. He is a master tactician and is respected by judges.
